Contest Rules

You must submit a timelapse featuring a manually performed focus pull in the submissions forum :)

You have to do is a manual time lapse focus pull hitting a MINIMUM of 2 focus targets.

We LOVE DIY projects here at The Chronos Project, and we will allow the use of non automated home build DIY mechanical solutions, but NO automation. Each motion must be started/stopped manually!

Linear/Pan/Tilt automation are permitted for Linear/Pan/Tilt motion only.

The use of commercially available focus adjust systems is prohibited.

NO Magic Lantern Focus pulls!

When submitting an entry in the Entry forum you must explain the method you used to achieve the focus shift.

BTS images are strongly encouraged, but not required.

All entries MUST be submitted by May 30 2014

Clip length should be 10 seconds or longer, the focus pull does NOT have to be the entire length of the clip

Brennan Nance and Jesse Attanasio will be the judges, if they can not agree on a single winner then our very own Kyle Philben will decide the winner!

Love the idea of this contest! I read about it first on instagram and worked on it this week. Posting soon in the submissions once it is finished loading :). Thanks for holding this fun event!

So when you say by May 30, can I submit this Friday night or do I need to submit Thursday night? Running out of time to process on the road :-\.

Love the idea of this contest. Seems like most time-lapse contests I've seen are won by the pro's. Hoping I can get a few shots done. Doing manual focus changes in a time-lapse is extremely difficult to get right, as I'm sure everyone on here knows.

Well not being able to read a calendar, I've just realised the 30th is Friday not Saturday.
Since everyone is around the world in different timezones, Chris what is the deadline time? Midnight in the USA: Central Mountain time, West Coast time, Astronomical Star date time counted from the birth of the Universe?

Hopefully my newly repaired lens is capable of of a focus pull/push all in 1 day.

Cheers

Excellent.
But 9am on a Sunday morning? Isn't that still within the sleep-in zone for Sundays.
