The dF8X Mod Motion Controller is designed to simplify your motion control needs!
Building a motion control system can be a very rewarding project, but also requires a lot of different skill sets. There are a lot of considerations that go into motor driver selection, power requirements, and a proper enclosure with adequate room for layout and to protect the electronics. The df8X simplifies this into a convenient rugged package with over 200 termination points properly soldered, heat wrapped, crimped, and connected in a professionally built package.
The dF8X Mod Motion controller simplifies all of this into an easy to use, plug and play system that is capable of driving up to 8 motors with real time performance.
How easy? Very Easy!
Step 1) Plug your motors into the dF8x (I recommend our ModMotors to simplify motor mounting, connection, and wiring for a true plug and play experience)
Step 2) Connect the dF8X to your PC or Mac using a USB cable.
Step 3) Run Dragonframe and configure the axis to fit your needs. (Check out our Tutorials page to learn how to setup the axis).
The dF8X is intended to be used with Dragonframe 5 Software suite (not included) using DMC-Lite protocol, however capable programmers will find this system can also be controlled by their own custom software.

TB6600 Drivers
The most budget friendly configuration, the TB6600 is perfect for precise realtime movements and controlling motors up to Nema 23.
- 5-39VDC
- 0.5 to 4 Amps per channel
- Up to 32x Microstepping (6400 steps / revolution)

DM542T Drivers
A step up from the TB6600, the DM542T drivers have extra power and higher precision for more demanding scenarios. Capable of driving motors up to Nema 34.

For the highest power demands the Geckos can handle Nema 34 and 42 with ease.
